The Sound of Music Right Here

Published Mar 22, 2006 @ 4:38pm by Jason

You know, it’s rather silly to have a band site and not have any music publicly available on it. I mean, mailing list members have always been able to download a couple of songs, but you want more than that, right?

Well, in the spirit of rock and the pursuit of happiness and as a token of our appreciation for our devoted fans, we offer the GRS Music Player. A virtual jukebox of nearly every song we have recorded. You will find it at the most of the way down on the left side of this page.

So, listen to some GRS in preparation for the show this Friday!

So long for now…

Published Dec 2, 2005 @ 11:12am by Jason

Green Rode Shotgun would like to thank all of you guys for supporting us over the past few years. We have been blessed with the opportunity to make music together and have had the time of our lives doing so. Though we hope to play live again someday, GRS is taking an indefinite hiatus.

We started this band because we love making music together. Over the past several months we recieved a lot of “industry” attention, and, although that is exciting, it also creates a lot of pressure to be more aware of the business implications of everything you do, play, etc. That mindset took its toll on our creative energy and spirit. With respect to these facts we have decided to take a break.

We hope to play again someday sooner or later as Green Rode Shotgun and hope to see you all there when we do. Until then, thanks again for all of your support.

The Apparitions and Hotpipes Rock

The Apparitions and Hotpipes rock. We’ve played with both bands many times before, and they never fail to kick ass. And we’ll be playing with them again on Friday, September 16th at The Basement (right below the best record store in Nashville).

It will be good. Oh yes. It will be good.

Message Board Now Online

Published May 1, 2005 @ 1:48pm by Jason

The GRS Message Board is now online. This is now the place to go to talk about or ask questions about GRS shows, music, etc.

Also, if you are planning on taking over the world, the GRS Message Board is an excellent place to begin. You can write a few posts that say things that you think people want to hear. You’ll start to gain a core group of loyal followers. Keep posting bigger and bigger ideas. Next thing you know, you’ve got a whole army who are ready to do your bidding.

New Web Site Mostly Launched

Published Apr 20, 2005 @ 8:19pm by Jason

Well folks, for those of you who rely on the GRS web site for your news, entertainment and companionship, you will be glad to know that she’s back online. And she’s got a new look and a few more features with still more to come.

So, welcome to GreenRodeShotgun.com version 3.0. We call it version 3.0 because the last version was 2.0 and 3 usually comes after 2. Most of the old features are still here. You still get the news (that’s what you are reading right now). And there’s still the discographical information which has track listings, notes, and lyrics. The mailing list is also still here.

What’s new then, you ask? Well, we’re working on that. In the next few days, you will be able to listen to GRS songs with the GRS Music Player. The old bio has been replaced by Noel Murray’s "Nine Things You Have to Know About GRS". Also, there will soon be a message board. You will be able to visit the message board to discuss shows, music, and pretty much anything else with GRS band members and fans. Finally, there will soon be a "member’s area" where you will be able to log in and download songs and stuff.

There’s still a little more to do, but for now, visit often and interact!
